Barclays Wealth Promotes For Management Reorganisation In Scotland

Barclays Wealth, the private client arm of UK bank Barclays, has reorganised its senior management team in Scotland.

Craig Jamieson has been appointed as regional centre head at Barclays Wealth Glasgow reporting to Mark Little, managing director of Barclays Wealth in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Mr Jamieson will be responsible for overseeing a 90-strong team. Mr Jamieson was previously chief of staff to Mark Kibblewhite, managing director and head of Barclays Wealth’s UK Private Bank, and began his career at the wealth management unit in July 2007.

He has also held senior roles at Scottish Widows, where he was responsible for overseeing the direct sales force of 250 people.

Douglas Noble has been promoted to head of private banking in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Mr Noble has been at Barclays Wealth for 18 months and in his new position will extend his trusted advisory role across the country.

He was previously regional centre head of Barclays Wealth in Edinburgh. Prior to this he established Bank of Scotland’s private banking operation in 1999 and Adam & Company’s first office in Aberdeen in 2005.

John Godfrey replaces Mr Noble as regional centre head in Edinburgh and will work closely with senior management to help grow business in the region. Mr Godfrey will continue to manage a 30-strong investment management team in addition to financial planning and private banking colleagues providing personalised wealth management for all clients.

He has been with Barclays Wealth for 12 years and was previously senior director in the Glasgow office and head of investment in Edinburgh.

On Monday, the company announced the appointment of Paul James, a former senior manager at Citi, as its new head of wealth structuring.
